Hey all! This month started off with me being incredibly uninspired and just plain feeling bad about my art. That big painting hadn't been touched in forever, I wasn't sketching or reading or doodling. Then my good friend and artist Marco (Check him out here:
http://marco-a-jimenez.blogspot.com/ ) inspired me. I just needed to make art, not matter if it was bad or good because really, not every piece was going to be a masterpiece. Once I acknowledged and accepted this into my life, things changed. I started out sketching, then I did a watercolor.

The composition is similar to alot of sketches I've been doing lately, but this time the sun changed a bit. I wanted to make it look like solar flares, as you can see it was alot of fun! After that I decided to return to the big painting I had put away for awhile, last time I touched it I put up some trees and grass, and painted the sky blue. It wasn't working at all!

I returned the sky to its original colors, and I wanted to make variations among the grass spots. It sounds so simple, but by adding some realistic shadows (Grass on the top is lighter, grass behind the mountain is darker) it just seems to make so much more sense! I'm really loving it, and I think it's almost done now.
The last piece I'm working on is supposed to study shadows during sunset from a birds eye view. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm going to leave this one as is or some how add more to it. It'll just have to sit here and wait.
Otherwise, not much else is going on. Still working. Loving that it's staying lighter out later but hating that I'm inside my job for most of it. I'm hoping it gets warmer soon, can't believe there was snow last week!
Till next time, see ya!
